You Need This “I’m Not The Only One” Remix

Hi, guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

So, if you haven’t realized yet, Sam Smith took over the world in 2014. We love him in “Latch,” which is where most people first heard him, and we also love “I’m Not The Only One.” The beauty of “I’m Not The Only One” can be appreciated and loved as it is. However, there is a House remix of the song that is so amazing in its own way, and I am about to show you what that is.

Dutch DJ, Asino, put his touch on “I’m Not The Only One” and made it into a beautiful dance track. The song has an ear-pleasing, steady dance melody from start to finish. Another great aspect of this song is the engaging beat drop. I also love that Sam Smith’s sound and vocals have not been altered, allowing the listener to enjoy his elite voice.

What I appreciate most about this song is that it is truly for every listener. It is considered to be a House track, but it is so gentle that it can be listened to while studying and can also be listened to by the listener who loves Big Room sound with powerful beat drops.

I hope you guys enjoy this! Until next time…

And 2015’s Best Bass Line To Date Goes To…

…”Escape” by Going Deeper.

Hello everyone!

One of the things I love about blogging about music is that I get to pour my heart into my keyboard and allow my words to explain how special some songs are to me. I need to feel compelled emotionally in order to write something true and purposeful for you guys. Unfortunately, I have been unmoved by most of the music that has been made this year. Yes, I like a few mainstream songs, but I find myself relying heavily on my older favorites for my listening pleasure.

One song that stands out as being shameful is “Cool” by Alesso. Unfortunately for him, I know of a song called “Get Out Of My Way” by Kylie Minogue. When I listened to “Cool,” it took about 5 seconds for me to be appalled. There is hardly an ounce of originality in that song. The beat is almost 100% identical. This is an example of other songs that have lacked individuality and have propetutated the cliche that is overcoming mainstream House/EDM.

Songs like “Escape” by Going Deeper are a breath of fresh air. In a world where it seems like songs are being produced for instant benefit instead of for an expression of creativity and genius, this song puts me at ease.

The bass line of this song is immaculate. It is deep, powerful, and intoxicating. This is the type of song that brings about emotion in me when I listen to it. I can close my eyes and embrace the rhythm to this one. Another thing I enjoy is the lyrics. The vocals are not the strongest, but I feel that they work for this song. I think that this song has big potential. It won’t be mainstream, but it would be an asset to any DJ’s set. This big bass and sound is bound to drive listeners crazy (in a good way).

If you want to get right to it, go to about 1:00 into the song.

Stay tuned for more to come! Enjoy!

Jacob Plant Has “Ice Cream” That Will Soothe Your Dance Soul

Hey guys!

I’ve been away for a while, but I’m back with my first post of the new year. With the new year has come new great songs. The following song is one that I’m really hooked on!

I like to check Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 mixes as often as possible because the music is so pure and there are a lot of brand new and exclusive gems in those mixes. I also love it because it’s all about Dance music and it encompasses both ends of the spectrum–Deep House to aggressive Electro House. One of the recent mixes included a song called “Ice Cream” by Jacob Plant. There are a few reasons why I really like this song.

I feel like this song is very versatile in its sound. There are some sounds that resemble those of House from the 80s and then some that have that Progressive and Electro House feel. I think the beat drop is awesome, especially if you listen to it on a really nice sound system. “Ice Cream” reminds me of the type of song that Oliver Heldens would make; who by the way, in my opinion, is the Best New DJ of 2014. I feel like Heldens created a sound template that others, like Jacob Plant, have embraced and have innovated their own sounds accordingly. This song has that driving Electro-sounding beat drop and a consistent Dance beat throughout. I think it’s great!

And “Ice Cream” JUST became available for download on iTunes TODAY! So if you like it, hop on it!

Talk to you soon, my Press peeps!

I’ve Been Gone For A While, But I’m “Back Home”

Hi everyone!

I know I have been gone for a while, but life got in the way and I had some personal things to take care of. Now, I can put my full focus into providing you with the newest and/or most interesting songs in existence!

During my hiatus, there has been a lot of good music that has been made. I had not been doing much research, but one song that I came across that I think is worthy of being mentioned in my blog is “Back Home” by Antonio Giacca.

What I like about this track is that its sound resembles that of the contemporary House sound, but it is not cliche. A lot of these Electro and Progressive House songs are literally noise with little build up, no beat drop, and no purpose. This song has really great beat drops. It has a smooth beat with traditional House elements and allows for a really enjoyable dance and listening experience. I measure a House song mainly on its beat, its danceability, and its creativity. This song passes all of my criteria.

If you are yearning for a new dance track for your playlist, “Back Home” is one for you to check out!

I will be back more regularly with more songs to tickle all of your fancies.

In Loving Memory of Revel Casino & Hotel

As you may or may not know, the Revel Casino & Hotel in Atlantic City closed last week. It was supposed to be the premier Atlantic City location when it was first built. However, it didn’t contain the financial backbone or success to keep it running. All that remains is the skeleton of the building that was once filled with lights, sin, and sophistication. But, the XL Nightclub in Revel left me with one song that I have been able to value and cherish for almost a year now. Thus, Revel deserves some recognition and reflection from me.

Last August, I went out for a good friend’s birthday to the XL Nightclub, which was located inside Revel. The DJs that night were a duo called Project 46. I had not heard of them before that night, so I was skeptical as to how the music would be. I ended up really enjoying the music they played. Now, they have gained notoriety in the House community and are now more recognized. They played one song that I could not leave the club without. It’s called “Sunset Miracles” by EDX.

Over the past year, I have really grown to like EDX because of songs like this. This song was a “sunset miracle” for me that night, as it sounded so beautiful to me and it was about 3 am. (I know sunset was not approaching at that time, but you know what I mean :)) When I heard it, I did what I normally do and “Shazamed” it. The cell phone service was poor in the club, so Shazam was not able to identify the song and a pending tag was saved. THANKFULLY, I woke up the next morning and the song was recognized.

I love the constant House beat throughout the song. It has two truly epic beat drops and in a loud club, it provides one of the greatest sound experiences you could want. There are no words in the song, but if you like a good beat, this song is for you!

Enjoy y’all! Loves,

Getting Con”Torted” In Miami By An Addictive Progressive House Track

Happy Monday everyone!

Usually, I’m busy contributing to society like everyone else. This weekend and currently, however, I have been on Miami on vacation and boy do I have a song that you cannot do without!

Before I die, there are a few places that I have wanted to go to check out music. Among Ibiza, Dubai, and others, I’ve wanted to go to Miami to immerse myself in clubbing. In particular, I have wanted to go to Club Space for almost five years. I finally went! I went in there with two of my dearest friends and when I got in, I was actually disappointed. The place looked really cool but the music was very cliche and ordinary. I thought there was no way that this could be truly what this place is about. So, we spent three hours having a good time, but I was let down because I thought that everything I imagined about Space was a lie. However, I made such a novice mistake and never looked online or found out how many floors there were…

We were on our way out when we saw stairs leading upstairs…oh no! I went up there and all of my doubts were put to rest. Heaven was upstairs! The music was blasting, people were raving, people were dancing. The music and experience were EXACTLY what I had expected. Maybe we spent three hours downstairs for some reason beyond comprehension, but I made the MOST of the rest of the time I was there. I was in complete euphoria as I stood there watching David Tort kill it on the 1’s and 2’s. His mixes were incredible and the songs were awesome. Ahh! The lights, the fog, the mist; all awesome! Among all of the great songs he played, there was one that stood out and for good reason. “Show Me All Your Love” by Kaz James…this song is so captivating and powerful that any words I have about it cannot do it justice. The beat is absolutely phenomenal. This Progressive House track puts most other songs to shame. This song will blow up very soon! This song is so fresh right now that you couldn’t buy it if you tried! All I can get my hands on is a rip of the song off the awesome BBC Radio 1 mixes with Pete Tong. And while others are just hearing about it, you will already have know about it for months. 😉

I love music and I can tell you that songs like this do not come out every month. This is a very special song that gives me goosebumps because of how great it is. I hope you enjoyed hearing about my club experience and enjoy the song!

If you love House and are going to Miami, do not think twice about going anywhere else. Go to Club Space and stay there until noon the next day! I loved it and will come back soon!

A “Weapon” Of Mass Elation For My Eardrums

It’s Hump Day, y’all!

I think we can all use a little something to add excitement to the rest of our week, and here it is!

I heard this song, “Weapon (EDX Acapulco At Night Remix)” by Cazzette while looking for new songs in my free time on Monday night. Usually, I don’t have much success finding good music when I actually do the research; it usually comes to me when I least expect it. Go figure lol. But, I was on Beatport.com–which is a site I have used for years to find the latest and greatest Dance music–and I came across this song. The SECOND I heard it, I was like, “Whoa!” I was getting ready to go to sleep. After hearing this song, I felt the complete opposite.

EDX seems to know the beats that move my heart strings. He has really come out with great stuff over the past two years and this is one example of his creativity! The song starts and doesn’t waste any time with a slow, sort of cliche buildup that most Progressive House songs have nowadays. The beat is driving, consistent, and captivating from the start. It’s a beat that is so innovative, blending a Progressive House feel with a traditional House/Deep House swagger.

Not only is the beat fantastic, the lyrics are very well sung, clever, and meaningful! So if the beat didn’t do it for you, perhaps the lyrics will. Before I analyzed the lyrics, I just accepted the fact that the song was called “Weapon” and thought nothing of it. But the weapon that is being referred to is the singer’s love! She is singing about someone who is taking advantage of the love and desire that she has for them. I can totally relate to that feeling. The lyrics are so believable; it’s just great.

This song is special. It isn’t often that I come across a song that makes me feel this way. The beat is calm, yet climactic; appealing to fist pumpers and casual listeners alike. This is a Dance song with meaning, purpose, and direction. I love music and even I can say that House music at times steers in a banal direction, with beats that sound worn out and lyrics that are catchy for popularity purposes but have no substance.  “Weapon” is  a beautiful song. If you like this style of music, you cannot continue on unless you add this to your playlist. It is THAT good!

Easter Isn’t The Only Thing That Will Make You Feel “Blessed”

Happy Monday, guys!

I am loving this beautiful weather, hope you guys are too! I have been out of commission for a while due to just being busy with life, work, dancing, etc. But I’m back with a song that I really enjoy listening to.

One genre of music that always seems to be euphoric for me is House music. Not that crazy EDM music–even though I like some of that–but smooth House with a purpose. “Blessed” by EDX is a Progressive House track that is more subtle than most, but still extremely powerful. Let me say that I feel “blessed” to have come across this song. I love music that moves me; that compels me to react to it. When I listen to this song, I want to close my eyes and lose myself in the rhythm.

It has a consistent, driving House beat, but has elements of contemporary House music. It’s kind of like a nice blend of a classic House sound with a new school flavor. There are significant beat drops in the song that can be epic, but unlike other songs where they just sort of happen after a dragged out build up, these beat drops follow a gradual build up that will keep you moving your feet. I love the sound of the beat drop and the sound of the rhythm.

EDX is a man who gets it and I think you should get on this song. This is the type of song I can listen to in my car, be alone in my room and just freestyle my heart out, or I can listen to this on an epic sound system among hundreds of people.

Hope you enjoy it! I have more music coming, so don’t go too far!

Tritonal Let’s You Know That It’s “Now or Never”

I heard this song a few weeks ago and have listened to it every day since!

I am a huge fan of Progressive House and this song is one of the better ones out right now. The song starts off with Pheobe Ryan singing with a really nice sounding voice. And then the beat picks up gradually until the beat drops greatness! The beat drop is soooo good! I can gauge a beat drop usually on whether or not I want to stop what I’m doing and get up and dance, and this song makes me want to do that all the time!

And the lyrics are so relatable and contagious. The song says “It’s Now or Never.” There’s no ambiguity there. Everyone has met someone that they would love to have just one night with and want it to happen now or not at all. This song brings out those feelings. I just close my eyes and lose myself in the music to this one. It’s a good track. Check it out!
